34th India International Trade Fair opens today in Delhi
New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee will be inaugurating the India International Trade Fair, 2014 today where over 6,500 companies from India and abroad are expected to participate.
“The 34th edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF) will be inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee on November 14 at Pragati Maidan,” fair organiser India Trade Promotion Organisation said in a release.
The theme of 2014 trade fair is 'Women Entrepreneurs', to help organizations come together with women welfare programmes in different parts of the country. This year twenty five foreign countries are taking part in the IITF (India International Trade Fair). South Africa is the Partner Country of the IITF 2014, whereas Thailand is the Focus Country.
The fair will be graced by the Deputy Trade & Industry Minister of South Africa Elizabeth Thabethe, along with Commerce & Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Lt Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung.
The fair will have focus on social issues, including the cleanliness drive launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under Swachh Bharat Mission.
The first five days of the fair starting from November 14-18 are restricted to business visitors. It will be open for general public during November 19-27.
