BlackBerry Classic up for pre-order now, priced at $449
New Delhi: BlackBerry has put its Classic smartphone up for pre-orders, pricing it at $499 (roughly Rs 30,800). The QWERTY keyboard-equipped phone will begin shipping starting mid-December 2014.
BlackBerry Classic comes with well known BlackBerry form factor - a candybar styling with a full physical QWERTY keyboard appearing underneath the screen. The device sports BlackBerry's traditional physical keys, including a button to pick up calls, a button to hang up, and the throwback BlackBerry key.
The smartphone runs BlackBerry 10, like the recently released BlackBerry Passport, but in a more conventional size and shape. Another major difference is that it's sporting BlackBerry's traditional physical keys, includin.
The handset features a 3.5-inch 720 x 720 touchscreen, an 8MP camera on the back, and 16GB of built-in storage. It's running on a Qualcomm S4 Plus chip.
Blackberry Classic comes with services such as Blend, which is basically a secure remote desktop application for your phone. And just like the Passport, the Classic will have the ability to run Android apps from the Amazon Appstore.
Blackberry says it will produce only the number of devices it expects to sell.
