New Delhi: BlackBerry has announced that it has slashed the prices of its low cost BlackBerry 10 phone, the Q5 QWERTY. The phone which was earlier available for Rs 25,000 will now cost Rs 19,900 under the New Year offer.

The Q5 was clearly a big disappointment for the company as it failed to impress customers due to its average specifications. A big reasons for its failure was also its higher-end pricing as compared to entry-level ones.

In terms of specifications, BlackBerry Q5 comes with a 3.1-inch LCD capacitive screen with a screen resolution of 720x720 pixels. The phone has a processor that is clocked at 1.2Ghz. It comes with 8 GB internal storage and expandable memory slot. The Q5 comes with a 2 GB RAM.

The device has a 5 MP rear end camera and a 2 MP front-end cam for video-calling. The phone gets the best of BB10 OS with Time Shift and Story maker both being a part of the Q5. BlackBerry Q5 comes with a generous 2100 mAh non-removable battery.

The phone in available in Black, Red, White shades and the discount is applicable on all shades.
