Maruti to soon launch facelift version of Swift

New Delhi: Maruti is all set to launch another facelift version of its flagship hatchback, Swift, with some cosmetic change and subtle enhancement of features.

In the new update, there is a possibility of an automatic variant in the Swift range. Reports suggest that Maruti Suzuki India is likely to offer autobox in petrol as well as diesel trims.

The body shape is going to be similar. The revamp version may get silver detailing on the lower front bumper, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL), redesigned fog lamp surrounds, automatic parking and head lamps, fresh alloy wheels, electrically adjustable ORVMs, brushed up rear bumper, new centre stop light and retouched taillights.

Swift facelift will be offered with the VXi, VDi,  ZXi and ZDi variant.

On the inside, there will be new dual tone finish, six airbags, bluetooth supported In Car Entertainment (ICE) system, foldable rear seats and revised instrument cluster.

The refreshed Swift will continue to be powered by the proven 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine which puts out 87 PS (85.7 bhp) and 114 Nm of torque and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine which generates 75 PS (73.9 bhp) and 190 Nm of torque. The petrol motor will be available with a 5-speed manual and interestingly.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift will cost between Rs 4.42 lakh to Rs 6.71 lakh, and will compete with the likes of the refreshed VW Polo, Fiat Punto Evo and the upcoming new Hyundai Elite i20 and Tata Bolt.
