India being one of the biggest markets for two-wheelers has a lot of products to offer. Majority of the bikes being sold, belongs to the commuter category and most of the people prefer fuel economy over speed. As per BikeDekho.com most of the two-wheeler sector is categorized in the commuter segment, hence, every manufacturer has, at least, one product in its lineup that is good on mileage. So, here we have listed top 10 motorcycles which offer the highest fuel economy in India.

10. Suzuki Hayate

Suzuki Hayate got last updated in August last year with a five-step adjustable rear suspension, tubeless tyres and maintenance-free battery. The latest version of Hayate houses a 112.8cc, 4-stroke powertrain that runs 82 kms for every litre. The bike has been priced at Rs. 54,607 (ex-showroom) and competes against TVS Star City Plus, which is next in the list.

9. TVS Star City Plus

TVS Star City Plus stands at 9th position in the list of highest mileage offering motorcycles in India. The bike comes equipped with 109.7cc engine and offers many impressive features such as analog-digital instrument console, attractive graphics, and a well-designed body. Its smooth power plant returns impressive 83.9kmpl of mileage fulfilling the needs of most of the people. The bike is available with starting price of Rs. 44.382 (ex-showroom).

8. Mahindra Centuro Series

Though, Mahindra Centuro is having a difficult time in the market, but thanks to its impressive mileage of 85.2kmpl, the bike has successfully made to the list. Mahindra Centuro comes equipped with 106.7cc motor and the bike is available in 5 variants. The price starts at Rs. 43,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards.  

7. Hero Motocorp HF Series

When Hero and Honda parted their ways, they decided that Hero will keep developing CD range of motorcycles under a new name called 'HF series'. The HF series from Hero Motocorp offers the mileage of 88.56kmpl. In 2015, Hero introduced a new variant of its HF series christened as Deluxe Eco alongside HF Deluxe and HF Dawn. All the bikes under the series are powered by a 97.2cc air cooled engine and is available with the starting price of Rs. 39,470 (Ex-showroom, Delhi).

6. Honda Dream Series

Known to offer highest fuel economy in the Honda India lineup, these bikes returns 89.45kmpl of mileage. The Dream Series of Honda comprises of three motorcycles - CD 110 Dream, Dream Yuga, and Dream Neo. All the three motorcycles houses 109.19cc engine and are available at a starting price of 43,997 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).

5. Bajaj CT 100

Bajaj re-introduced its highest selling 100cc commuter, the CT100 in February last year. The updated machine was offered with ARAI tested mileage of 89.5kmpl. The bike gets its power from 99.27cc, 4-stroke mill, which is mated to a 4-speed transmission. The starting price of Rs. 35,034 makes it a perfect commuter. Recently, Bajaj announced to bring its price below Rs. 35000.

4. Hero Splendor Pro

Country's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero Motocorp introduced the facelift version Splendor Pro at an attractive price of Rs. 46,850 onwards (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). The latest version of the Splendor is powered by a legendary 97.2cc engine that produces 8.2bhp and 8.05Nm and returns the impressive mileage of 93.21kmpl.

3. TVS Sport

TVS Motors re-launched its popular model, TVS Sport in 2015 with an incredible mileage of 95kmpl that helped it take 3rd position in the list. The bike is powered by 99.77cc, 4-stroke, Duralife engine, which is mated to a 4-speed transmission. It is priced at Rs. 36,880 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and competes with Bajaj CT100 and Hero Splendor iSmart.

2. Bajaj Platina ES

Bajaj re-launched its popular model Platina ES with cosmetic updates in 2015. The bike delivers ARAI tested mileage of 96.6kmpl. Powered by 102cc engine, Platina ES produces 8.1bhp and 8.6Nm. The new Platina ES is available at a price of Rs. 43,241 onwards (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). Recently, Bajaj announced that the company is working on improving the mileage of efficiency over 100, which means the bike may have the chance to reach the first place as well.
