HTC One (M8) receiving Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Eye Experience in India: Report
New Delhi: Owners of HTC One (M8) have started receiving over-the-air (OTA) Android 4.4.4 KitKat update, reports suggest. The update also includes the HTC Eye Experience software suite, which brings various new camera-focused tools for a richer imaging experience.
The update has a size of 288.45MB. Users can keep a check on availability of the OTA update by navigating to Settings>About Phone>Software Update on their phone.
The Eye Experience was originally launched with the Desire Eye and One M8 Eye handsets, both of which are already available in India. For example, Instant shots allows you to take selfies easily by simply smiling at the snapper or using voice commands. The new face tracking enhancements will allow you group chat by adding up to four faces into a single frame via the front sensor alone. There is also a feature called split capture which can be used for recording with the front and rear cameras at the same time. Other fun tools include Crop me and face fusion.
Besides the HTC One (M8), the firm will bring the same software to HTC One (M7), HTC One (E8), HTC One mini, HTC One mini 2, HTC One Max, HTC Desire 816, HTC Desire 820 and HTC Butterfly 2.
HTC also confirmed that four of its smartphones will be receiving an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop. The smartphones which will be receiving the update are HTC One (M7); the HTC One (M8); the HTC One mini, and the HTC One mini 2.
