New Delhi: Suzuki, the parent company of Maruti Suzuki India has revealed that the A:Wind concept, which was shown at the Thailand International Motor Show in November 2013, will be called Celerio .

The name 'Celerio' has already been used by the Suzuki as a suffix with the Alto badge in few international auto markets.

The model is supposed to debut in India at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo in February. It will be powered by a 1 liter K Series petrol engine offering 67 bhp power and 90 Nm torque. Maruti Celerio will receive the same engine as seen on board Maruti Suzuki A Star and Estilo it replaces which will be mated to a 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic gearbox.

The engine has an ARAI tested fuel efficiency of 20.2 kmpl when seen on board Alto K10 while on the Celerio, fuel efficiency should be even more.

The new compact Celerio will be more spacious especially in the rear passenger section. Features on board will include an audio system, power windows, driver and passenger airbags and ABS among others.

The upcoming Maruti Celerio will compete with the likes of Chevrolet Beat and various other models in the compact segment.
