New Delhi: Social networking website Twitter today celebrated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday by flying balloons on his profile page. On opening PM Modi's twitter profile, colourful balloons fly up on the page.

Social media flooded with wishes for PM as he turned 65 today. A number of heads of states joined the wagon to wish Modi on the auspicious day.

Tibet's spiritual leader Dalai Lama, Russain Prime Minister Dimitri Medvedev, Chinese President Xi Jinpinga and Germen Chancellor Angela Merkel were among those who wished Modi on his birthday.

President Pranab Mukherjee and Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi also extended their wishes to the PM.

It is also the birthday of noted painter Maqbool Fida Husain today. Search engine giant Google dedicated a doodle to celebrate the birth century of one of Husain.

Google doodle shows 'Picasso of India' holding a paintbrush in the form of an abstract art.

"This was partly due to his modernist, slightly cubist paintings and to the sheer volume of work he produced. His middle name, 'Fida' can be translated as 'obsessed' or 'devoted' which could also describe his approach to making art." Google said.

M.F. Husain died in London on June 9, 2011.
