5 times Comedy King Kapil Sharma ruled the internet for his controversies
Being a celebrity is not an easy job. It may look all glitz and glamour but the job comes with lots of responsibilities. What the celebs say and do matter a lot and, our very beloved Kapil Sharma has definitely said and done few things that took the internet by storm and, made BIG headlines for all the wrong reasons.
While recently Kapil is all over the news because of his ugly spat with Sunil Grover, there are other instances too when the King of Comedy landed in controversies and ruled over the internet.
Tweet to PM Narendra Modi
Kapil brawl with the government of Maharashtra didn’t go well with the public. While some people supported the ace comedian but many took at a dig at him for targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He tweeted and called out Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials who demanded a bribe of ₹5 lakh from him to build an office.
Kapil had tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying, “Yeh hain aapke achhe din ? @narendramodi (sic)” and “I am paying ₹15 cr income tax from last 5 year n still i have to pay ₹5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office @narendramodi (sic).”
Dispute with Colors TV
Kapil who rose to stardom during his stint with Colors TV with hit show “Comedy Nights with Kapil” had a fallout with the channel.
The CEO of Colors TV blamed Kapil for not being able to handle his success and asking for a lot of money. While Kapil claimed that he was only asking for the amount that he deserved. Things did not get better and Kapil decided that this was going to be the end of CNWK.
Kapil was in news because of the backlash he received from a group of nurses from various medical colleges and hospitals in Amritsar.
They planned to file a defamation case against him and had staged a protest against the comedy star as they took offence with the way their profession was represented on “The Kapil Sharma Show”.
The show has Rochelle Rao portraying the character of a glamorous nurse, which led to people raising objections.
The comedian was accused of misbehaving with his female co-stars during an event celebrating International Marathi Film Festival Awards 2015.
He allegedly behaved improperly with Monali Thakur, Tanishaa Mukherjee and other female stars.
Kapil had refused to comment on the incident, however, he later tweeted saying, “I fall, I rise, I make mistakes, I live, I learn, I’ve been hurt but I am alive. I am human, I am not perfect but I am thankful :) (sic)”
Fallout with Salman Khan
In 2014, Kapil had a fallout with Bollywood megastar Salman Khan and his brother Sohail Khan, after he walked out of inaugural function of Celebrity Cricket League.
The comedian, who was to host the event, reportedly threw tantrums at the producers and walked out at the last minute, leaving the Khan brothers boiling with anger.
Well, Kapil surely has a lot going on and if such things go on with the same pace, he may soon be listed as the “King of Controversies” rather than Comedy mogul.
