After Taapsee and Radhika, Akshay Kumar picks up another unique talent
Bollywood’s beloved Khiladi Akshay Kumar has always been known to be one of the most dedicated actors of the time, and hence he gets really picky when it comes to choosing talents for his films.
Latest buzz is that Akki has roped in the raw and unconventional actress Swara Bhaskar for his upcoming sports based drama titled“Gold”, which will be helmed by critically acclaimed director Reema Kagti.
The film is a biopic on the life of Balbir Singh ¬¬— the celebrated hockey player who helped India win three consecutive gold medals in the 1948, 1952 and 1956 Olympics.
Reportedly, the team was scouting for a powerful actress to essay the main lead opposite Akshay.
“The team was looking for someone with acting prowess. After considering a few names, they chose Swara Bhaskar. They have approached her and she will soon sit for a narration and decide”, according to a source.
This is not the first time that the “Jolly LLB 2” star has chosen off-beat heroines for his films. He worked with Nimrat Kaur in “Airlift”, which was one of the biggest hits of 2016.
Khiladi Kumar will also be seen with Taapse Paanu in “Baby”and Radhika Apte in “Padman”
The source also added that Swara’s last film “Nil Battey Sannata” did well critically and commercially and, the makers felt that she had the perfect mix for a film like “Gold”.
On a related note, Akshay will be seen in “Mogul” “PadMan”, “Toilet: EK Prem Katha” and “2.0”, which also stars superstar Rajnikanth. Looks like Mr. Funnybones has an eventful year ahead!
