Actor Akshay Kumar, who cheered the Women in Blue at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup held at The Lord's landed into a controversy when he tweeted a picture of himself holding the National flag upside down. After uproar, he tweeted an apology on social media. He removed the picture, and stated that he didn’t mean to hurt anyone. Along with the whole nation, Khiladi Kumar was so excited to watch the match that he caught the train barefoot to make it on time.
His excitement was visible from his tweets. This is a well-known fact that social media can be a dangerous place infested with trolls who can be ruthless and unforgiving. Thus, when Akshay tweeted that photo with the flag, people started trolling him on social media. He later deleted the tweet and apologised for his mistake.
Akshay tweeted, “Extending my sincerest apology for violating the code of conduct for the tricolor.Didn't mean to offend anyone,the picture has been removed.”
Yesterday, India lost the match from England breaking the hearts of many cricket enthusiasts. But, Akshay shared a sweet message for the team telling them that he is proud of them. He tweeted, “Even Broken Hearts Can Laugh!!These Women have started a revolution & I couldn't be more proud #WWC17Final.”
