There’s no beating Akshay Kumar in fitness, his day off at IPS academy proves it

New Delhi: Superstar Akshay Kumar is 48-years-old but his age does not reflect on his body. He follows a strict fitness regime and urges people to do the same. Recently, the ‘Airlift’ actor showed off his martial arts skills with new IPS officer recruits.

Taking a day off from his busy schedule, Akshay spent a day at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. From playing volleyball to showing off his very impressive combat skills, Akshay did it all.

In his movies, Akshay has time and again donned the role of army men and police officers. In his upcoming movie this year, ‘Rustom’ he will be essaying the role of a navy officer. During his visit, he ensured to have a chat with the new recruits.

Akshay has taken formal training in martial arts. He started practicing Karata when he was in eighth standard. In his late forties, Akshay stays in shape due to his special diet. Regular sessions of Kickboxing, basketball, swimming and Parkour too contribute towards Akshay’s toned body.

Impressed by his stint at the academy, Akshay’s wife Twinkle Khanna took to Twitter to post a message for him.

On the work front, Akshay is gearing up for the release of Housefull 3 on June 3. The multi-starrer movie features Jacqueline Fernandes, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Lisa Haydon and Nargis Fakhri.
