For the first time ever: Will Aamir and Big B work in ‘Thug’ together?
Something which has not happened before is about to happen in Bollywood. If reports are to be believed megastar Amitabh Bachchan and superstar Aamir Khan will team up for the first time ever for a Yash Raj Films’ movie. The movie is tentatively titled ‘Thug’.
‘Thug’ is an adaptation of Phillip Meadow Taylor's book, Confessions of a Thug.
If these rumours turn to be true, then this will indeed be an amazing casting coup. After all who would not want to see Aamir’s perfection along with Big B’s impeccable acting skills?
The movie ‘Thug’ has been making it to the tabloids for many reasons. It was suggested that maybe actor Hrithik Roshan will replace Aamir in it. Then, it was rumoured that Deepika Padukone and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are in the lead roles.
But these fresh reports suggest that all these plans did not see light of the day.
Reportedly, ‘Thung ’ will be helmed by Dhoom 3 director Vijay Krishna Acharya. In fact, Acharya had approached Hrithik for this movie but apparently the ‘Greek God’ wasn’t quite impressed with it.
So, Vijay rewrote the script and approached Aamir who gave it a nod. News have it that Mr. Perfectionist was happy that he would get to play a ‘tapori’ again after ‘Rangeela’ (1994) and Ghulam (1998).
Interestingly, Big B has worked with the other two Khans, Shah Rukh and Salman; but never worked with Aamir. This is quite surprising given the number of years they have been in the industry.
We will keep you updated about this as more information surfaces.
