Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi’s Bank Chor earns 1.40 cr on opening day
The entertaining pair of Masti Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberio shared screen space once again in Bank Chor. The Bumpy directional venture opened to negative feedback from both the audience and critics. Now, the first day collection of the film is out, and it is equally disappointing. The film, which was the only release in Indian cinemas this week, suffered a bad start. Bank Chor collected only Rs 1.40 crore at the box-office on the first day of its opening.
A Bollywood Hungama report mentions that the film saw a low release with just 700 screens and no overseas release. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his official Twitter account to share the first day collection of the film. “#BankChor Fri Rs 1.40 cr. India biz”, he tweeted.
The Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi combo works for the film but the thin plot-line doesn't leave too much to be done. Then again, if there's a pick up on Saturday and Sunday, what with there being no other option, the small budget film might still be able to recover its money. Let's wait to see how it fares in the next few days.
Bank Chor is an Indian Hindi comedy thriller film directed by Bumpy and produced by Asish patil. The movie is distributed under Yash Raj Film banner.
Another film that released yesterday was actor and singer Diljit Doshanjh’s superhero comedy flick, Super Singh. Although these releases are the least of their problems with Salman Khan’s Tubelight releasing the next week, which means Riteish and Vivek’s film clearly has only one week to make its share of money in the box office. Tubelight being one of the most anticipated releases of the year, would mean it is going to be making most of the dough to itself.
