Kapoor & Kapur divorce settled: Karisma gets kids, house; Sunjay rights to visit children
New Delhi: The high profile divorce of actress Karisma Kapoor and her businessman husband Sunjay Kapur reached an end on Friday. The two celebrities came to an agreement to settle amicably in front of the Supreme Court.
The apex court had earlier asked the two, who have made many dirty allegations on each other in public, to settle their issues in a peaceful manner.
As a part of the agreement, the two children of the couple will be with Karisma. Sunjay has been given visitation rights to the kids.
Karisma and Sunjay have two children – 11 year old Samiera and 6 year old Kiran Raj Kapoor.
Supreme Court also cancelled Karisma’s FIR against her in-laws in which she had alleged that her husband and mother-in-law tortured her mentally.
A house of Sunjay’s father in Mumbai has been transferred to Karisma. Also, Sunjay Kapur has purchased bonds worth Rs 14 crores for his children. Each of his kids will receive an interest of Rs 10 lakhs from the bonds for monthly expenses.
Karisma and Sunjay got married in 2003 in a lavish affair. Though, their married life was not a happy ride and the couple got separated in 2014. Since then their divorce has been making it to the tabloids.
Earlier this year, Sunjay said that Karisma married him only because of his money. He had also said that Karisma was heartbroken after her breakup with actor Abhishek Bachchan and found a shoulder to cry on in him.
Rubbishing these allegations by Sunjay, Karisma’s father Randhir Kapoor said that they belong from an elite family and don’t need anyone’s money. Karsima had also stated that Sunjay was not a good father to the kids.
