Pratyusha Banerjee of ‘Balika Vadhu’ fame commits suicide
Mumbai: In what has come as a shock to the television industry, actress Pratyusha Banerjee, best remembered for her portrayal of Anandi from ‘Balika Vadhu’, has committed suicide.
The 24-year old actress was admitted in the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, Andheri West in Mumbai after she hung herself in her house in Kandivali, Mumbai. The hospital authorities informed the police about her death.
The reason behind this extreme step by the popular TV actress is not clear as of now but it being said that she was highly disturbed in her personal life. She was reportedly going through a rough phase in her relationship with boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh. The Jharkhand-based actress last WhatsApp status read "Mar Ke Bhi Tujhse Munh Na Modna.''
Reactions of her colleagues from the industry have been of shock. Actor Ejaz Khan has claimed that it is a murder case. "Pratyusha wasn't such a weak person. She couldn't commit suicide," he said.
Dolly Bindra too expressed her shock over the unfortunate incident.
Pratyusha shot to fame with the popular daily soap ‘Balika Vadhu’ where she essayed the most loved character of Anandi. Post that, she participated in several reality shows as well such as Jhalak Dikhla Ja, Bigg Boss. The actress was also seen in the recent show ‘Power Couple.
She had been in news lately when she accused eight men of posing as cops and molesting her.
The news of her suicide is extremely sad both for her fans and her colleagues in the industry.
