This is why Shah Rukh Khan won't be a part of IIFA 2017
Everyone is keenly waiting for the prestigious International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards, which will be held in New York on July 14-15. However, the Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan won’t be a part of the mega event, latest buzz suggests. The Raees actor will be busy promoting his much-anticipated film Jab Harry Met Sejal and hence, the superstar will give IIFA a miss this year as well, say reports. The Imtiaz Ali film has already created much buzz owing to the revelation of its title and first look.
However, there is also another reason as to why King Khan is skipping the ceremony. The actor has to travel soon after the awards, for personal reasons, and he doesn’t want to do two trips so close to each other. His elder son Aryan suffered an injury, and he needs medical care.
“Shah Rukh’s son Aryan broke his nose while playing football at school. Aryan is already on medication, but the doctors have advised him to undergo surgery. SRK will be travelling abroad for that. It has been scheduled around the same time as the award function, and his priorities are very clear. The concerned father will obviously prefer being by his son’s side”, a DNA source was quoted as saying.
On the work front, the actor will be seen in Jab Harry Met Sejal. The movie is directed by Imtiaz Ali and, this will be Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma's third collaboration, after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. The two actors will also be seen together in Aanand L Rai's next.
