Varun Dhawan’s ‘Dishoom’ mints Rs. 37.32, becomes sixth highest opening weekend of 2016
Ever since Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ and Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’ has hit the theatres; it is all the movie buffs have been talking about.
In fact, such was the craze of ‘Sultan’ and ‘Kabali’ that no other movie has been able to do a reasonable business at the box office for the last few days.
But much to everyone’s surprise, Varun Dhawan and John Abraham starrer has managed to create a mark at the box office and minted crores in the opening weekend.
While the movie earned Rs. 11.05 crores on its day of release and Rs. 12.02 crores on the second day, the collections are rising fairly for ‘Dishoom’.
As per the Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh, ‘Dishoom’ has made a collection of Rs. 37.32 crores in its opening weekend.
In fact, it has now become as the sixth highest opening weekend movie 2016 preceded by ‘Sultan’, ‘Housefull 3’, ‘Fan’, ‘Airlift’ and ‘Baaghi’ respectively.
On the other hand, Adarsh has also tweeted that the business of ‘Dishoom’ is being affected by heavy rains in various parts of the country.
Helmed by Varun’s brother Rohit Dhawan, ‘Dishoom’ also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Nargis Fakhri. Interestingly, Parineeti chopra and Akshay Kumar are also seen doing a cameo in the movie.
