Aamir Khan not to be part of Lagaan sequel
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is reportedly not working on the sequel to Ashutosh Gowariker's 2001 film Lagaan.
Aamir had reportedly started working on the second instalment of the film.
"It is completely false news (Aamir working on the sequel). It is not true at all," sources said.
Lagaan revolved around a small village where the locals oppressed by high tax rates, found themselves in an extraordinary situation. Thereafter, an arrogant officer challenges them to a game of cricket as a wager to avoid taxes.
Lagaan also featured Gracy Singh, Suhasini Mulay and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.
The grapevine also suggests that I, Me Aur Main actress Prachi Desai was finalised to play the female lead in the sequel.
Meanwhile, Aamir is busy filming Nitesh Tiwari's Dangal. The actor will appear in the role of legendary wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat in the movie.
