Mumbai: Akshay Kumar captained Housefull XI in a match against former India skipper Mohammed Azharuddin's  Eleven.

Sajid Nadiadwala was the wicketkeeper of the Housefull team which lost to Azhar's XI. Everyone present was impressed with actress  Deepika Padukone's batting skills. The entire cast of Housefull was present except Lara Dutta who was out of town.

Akshay  is playing a bowler in his upcoming film Patiala House and he says he is looking forward to play cricket at the national level. An ardent fitness freak, the actor is learning the fine nuances of the game in order to become a professional cricketer.
 
Talking to a news daily on his latest craze, Akshay said, "I`m working towards it. Practising cricket gives me the biggest high. Every morning I look forward to practising with Balwinder Singh Sandhu."


 
"I am not yet good enough to play national level cricket, but I am getting there. I`ve been taking bowling lessons for ‘Patiala House' from one of the best trainers. I`m very sporty by nature. So it was quite easy for me to pick it up."
 
Speaking on his training schedule, Akshay said, "I`m getting good enough to play beyond the film. And I will very soon. I promise you."
