Happy Birthday Kajol: Thanks for giving us the legendary flicks like Dushman, Gupt, DDLJ and many more
It has been 25 years since Kajol has embarked on her cinematic journey but her charisma remains the same. She is definitely one of the most loved actresses in Bollywood, with numerous accolades in her kitty. On 5th August, this year, the gorgeous actress gracefully turns 43. The diva has so far bagged six Filmfare Awards and is famous for her jaw-dropping on screen chemistry with superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Apart from that, Kajol has played many against the type roles for which she has been critically acclaimed. We still remember how we couldn't have envisaged this beautiful actress to be playing a baddie on screen, but Gupt made our wildest of dreams come true. In Dushman, this actress played the role of two striking personalities and did the utmost justice to the role.
Everyone just love see Kajol on the screen. Be it for her emotional yet strong Naina in Dushman or the innocent girl in love, Simran in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. The actress has carved a niche in the industry for herself and her magic isn't going to dwindle in the coming times as well.
With her prodigious acting skills, Kajol has always managed to catch eyeballs and after every role, she kept adding to her legion of admirers.
Kajol, who was born to actress Tanuja and film director Shomu Mukherjee on 5th August 1974, has been one of the most successful actresses in the 1990s and thereafter.
She is perhaps one of the very few heroines of Bollywood, who made fantastic choices in terms of the roles that she has played in movies.
In some of her flicks, Kajol has played the role of a mother including U Me Aur Hum, My Name Is Khan and We Are Family.
Other gems in Kajol's list would be Baazigar, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Gupt, Ishq, Dushman, Fanaa and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. What Kajol has achieved in Bollywood is something really phenomenal and one that cannot easily be challenged by many other Bollywood actresses.
Among all the actors, Kajol has starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan in maximum number of flicks and all have proved superhits at the box office.
Kajol's behaviour initially in her career was amateurish and the actress admits that she overcame this by the passage of time and became more mature later. It was in the year 1999 that Kajol got married to Ajay Devgn. After her marriage, Kajol and Ajay Devgn visited Europe, Egypt and Australia for their honeymoon.
On 20 April 2003, Kajol gave birth to a daughter, Nysa. Seven years later, on 13 September 2010, she gave birth to a son, Yug.
Rani Mukerji's Chalte Chalte role was offered to Kajol initially, but the actress wanted to have a break and spend some time with her family, so she rejected it. Her all time favourite flicks include Gone with the Wind and Casablanca. Her favourite actress is her mother Tanuja.
Kajol loves reading books, specially science fiction and horror novels. The actress loves listening to old melodies as she finds a certain bit of innocence in them. She is also fond of writing poems. The Bengali beauty received India's fourth highest civilian award, the Padma Shri, in 2011.
The actress is again in the limelight as she is going to work with popular Tamil actor Dhanush in VIP 2. It is a sequel to 2014 blockbuster Vela Illa Pattathari. It is slated to release on August 11, 2017. VIP 2 is going to be Kajol's second Tamil venture after Minsara Kanavu.
