New Delhi: It seems the elite class in Mumbai city is just not concerned with the dengue outbreak that has created a situation of panic across the country.
While various medical associations are trying their best to fight this disease, the Municipal Corporations of every city are also issuing guidelines to prevent breeding of the dengue causing mosquito Aedes Aegypti.
The A-listers of the glamorous city are taking dengue way too lightly. Reportedly BMC has issued notices to two of the renowned studios in Mumbai – RK Studio and Yashraj Studios – after the inspection team spotted dengue breeding spots in their premises.
According to media reports, Aedes mosquito larvae were found in the pot of a Feng Shui plant in the reception area of RK Studio, Chembur, whereas the same was found in water that had collected in shooting equipment at Yashraj Studios, Andheri.
The head honcho of Yashraj Studios, Yash Chopra, died of dengue in 2012 after which BMC had found mosquito breeding sites in the studio.
However, this is not the first time BMC has issued such a notice to the A-listers of the city. Recently, a similar notice was issued to Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Jeetendra under the more stringent section 381(B) of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, after breeding spots for Aedes Aegypti were found in their bungalows.
