Are you repeating these make-up mistakes every day?
Every lady loves to do make-up and has her own particular make-up habits.
But you'll be surprised to know that some of your these habits can have certain adverse effects on your skin over a period of time.
For example when you continue using a fairness cream for a very long time, you'll notice that after some time it stops affecting your skin.
Similarly, when you use a dandruff shampoo for a long time, it might help you get rid of the dandruff initially but after a certain period it stops showing any positive effects. It's because of the presence of strong chemicals in it.
Same is the case with make-up. Although it is done to enhance one's beauty, however, there could be certain makeup habits that, unknowingly, start harming our skin.
Though not all make-up habits are harmful, but if the below-mentioned points are included in the make-up routine, then it's high time that you may relook at your make up habits.
Using dirty make-up brushes
With life getting busy each day, women hardly get time for themselves. In such a hectic schedule, cleaning up your brush might not seem important to you.
But this negligence can be dangerous as the makeup brushes are a perfect breeding ground for bacteria which can result in various skin infections.
So to avoid this trouble, do clean your make up brushes on regular basis.
You must wash the dry brushes atleast once a week while the wet brushes that you use while applying foundation and concealer should be washed with a mild shampoo once in every four days.
Sleeping with your make-up on
At times at the end of a hectic day, you feel so tired that you don't feel like removing your makeup and decide to sleep with it.
Many women do this quite often but in reality this habit is an open invitation to acne and other infections.
Make-up when left on the skin for a long time results in blocking the pores and hence causes acne. Infact when you toss and turn while sleeping, you mess up your face work and at times there are even chances that the residue may enter your eye. This can also cause infection in the eyes.
So it is advisable to take a few minutes and remove the make-up before you get in your bed.
Using expired make-up products
Just like our food or medicines, our make-up products also expire but usually women tend to ignore this. This later on harms the skin.
You'll be surprised to know that all your makeup products harbour bacteria and using these products beyond their expiry dates can result in skin infections, eye infections and even rashes.
So it is advisable that you may clean out all the expired products from your collection.
Sharing your make up products
Though this doesn't seem to be a big deal to most of us and we tend to share our make up products with our bestie, cousin or even a colleague. But this could be risky for the skin.
This sisterly bond of sharing make up kit can end up in making you only suffer with cold sores and contagious skin infections.
Using liquid liner on your waterline
Some ladies are quite fond of applying liquid liner on their waterline (the area between eye and eyelashes). But at times using certain liners on the waterline result in irritation in the eyes and even allow some burning sensation.
This may be because you are allergic to the ingredients of that particular liner.
To avoid this problem in future, you must test the liner before use. For this, try the liner on the small area near your waterline to check if you feel any irritation or not.
In case you are using an eye pencil, it is advisable to sharpen the pencil before use to prevent the bacteria from entering your eyes.
