One dead, three injured in Noida BMW hit-and-run, accused still at large
Noida: One person who was critically injured and admitted to the hospital after a speeding BMW ram into another car and motorcycle succumbed to injuries today evening at a Noida hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Gulfam Ali, a 20-year-old youngster who repairs air-conditioners.
The incident occurred when the speeding BMW, bearing a Haryana registration number (HR 51 AU 6900), hit another car and a bike in Noida leaving three others injured, police said.
The owner of the car has been identified and efforts are on to nab Vinod, the man behind the wheel at the time of the incident, police said.
Eyewitnesses said that the accident occurred at around 12.30 PM today near gate number 7 of Noida Stadium near sector 22. The BMW was racing with another car when the driver lost control and rammed into the said vehicles, they said.
Eyewitness accounts further suggest that Vinod allegedly threatened the crowd with a gun when they tried to stophim from fleeing the spot. The other car then picked up Vinod and sped away. The accused runs a gym in Noida.
This is the second such incident to rock the NCR area within two weeks.
Earlier this month, a Class 12 student had mowed down a 35-year old marketing executive by his Mercedes car in Civil Lines area of the national capital.
