Seven-year-old child injured in bomb blast targeting BSF camp in Manipur
A seven-year-old child was injured in a bomb blast that took place this morning at Moirang Purel village near Imphal in Manipur.
The bomb blast was targeted at a Border Security Force (BSF) camp set up in that area.
Immediately after today’s explosion, Manipur police and BSF officials rushed to the spot and launched a massive search operation.
The injured were given first aid by Assam Rifles doctors at Kangpokpi and referred to a hospital in Imphal. No organisation or individual has claimed responsibility for the bomb attack so far.
The bomb blast comes two days after two BSF jawans were injured in an IED blast near a BSF vehicle at Kangpokpi in Senapati district.
According to reports, an IED weighing 3 kg was recovered by a combined team of Manipur Police and 25 Assam Rifles in another incident today.
The IED was recovered during frisking of passengers of a bus near Tendongyan village in Manipur’s Imphal West district.
