NIA officer shot dead in UP's Bijnor
Bijnor: A National Investigation Agency (NIA) Officer was shot dead by two unidentified attackers near his hometown- Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday night.
The deceased- Tanzil Ahmed was returning from a wedding in his Wagon-R car with his wife and two children, when attackers opened fire at his car at around 1.30 am in near Sahaspur in Bijnor district
The Police have recovered seven empty cartridges at the scene of incident, shots were fired from 9 mm pistol.
The children are safe but his wife sustained injuries while protecting Tanzil, she has been admitted to a hospital in Noida in a critical condition.
He was attending his niece's marriage. He was with his wife and two children. Two bike-borne assailants shot fire at them. They were referred to the Cosmos hospital," Station House Officer Rajkumar told ANI.
Meanwhile, NIA and ATS teams reach the Moradabad hospital where body of the NIA official is kept
Aged 45, Tanzil Ahmed was a Deputy SP in BSF, later he joined NIA as an inspector at agency's Delhi Headquarters.
