Mumbai: Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam, into the third day of his indefinite hunger strike, today threatened to immolate himself if his demand to lower power tariff in Mumbai was not implemented.

Nirupam told reporters at the dharna site that he would immolate himself outside the home of the owner of Reliance Energy, if the company failed to accept his demand to lower power tariff.

Nirupam also demanded that the Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan should order audit of the accounts of all three power distribution companies, and the companies should clear their stand before the power regulator by today itself.
