#DUadmissions: Girls to get relaxation of 3% in cut-off, on all courses
New Delhi: This time Delhi University (DU) has implemented a common rule to give relaxation to girl candidates in cut-off percentage up to a maximum of 3%. The final decision of percentage will be taken by the respective colleges whether they want to give relaxation of 1%, 2% or 3%.
Many colleges have decided that the girl students should get the benefit of maximum 3%. A lot of colleges have planned to go by this standard rule.
Dr. S.K. Garg, Principal, Deen Dayal College (DDU) told that in his college, the girl candidates will get 3% relaxation in all the courses.
Till last year, the college followed the criteria of 2% leverage however; the percentage of girls in the college was merely 35% at that time. This time, they have plans to introduce leverage of 3% and with this they are expecting that the percentage of girls in the college will rise to at least 40%.
Dr.I.S.Bakshi, Principal of Dayal Singh College said that his college will also offer a relaxation of 3% in the cut-off to the girls in all the courses.
With the implementation of this formula, girl candidates will have better chances of admission in popular courses.
It is learnt that Shivaji College and Ambedkar College will also follow the 3% rule.
