New Delhi: A retired Indian Army Lieutenant Colonel moved to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to inform that her daughter is willing to join terror outfit ISIS.
Indian Express reported that the Hindu girl, who graduated from Delhi University, went to Australia for three years for post-graduate studies. After her return, she was reportedly a changed person.
Now the Intelligence Bureau (IB) officials have been trying to persuade her that joining ISIS is a bad idea.
Girl's father has now sought NIA's help to stop her from getting lured by ISIS.
The report stated that girl's father stumble upon some internet communication linked to ISIS on his daughter's computer.
She was, perhaps, he said, in touch with alleged ISIS recruiters and planning to travel to Syria to join the outfit.
According the report, the girl, who is believed to be in her mid-20s, was planning to travel to Syria through Australia.
IB sleuths have already held a few sessions with her, said sources.
Recently, 10 youths were recently deported from the UAE for allegedly indulging in ISIS propaganda.
The latest development comes in the backdrop of Government of India taking steps to stop radicalisation of youth by ISIS.
Last month, former home secretary LC Goyal chaired a high-level meeting to formalise a strategy to neutralise extremist ideologies such as that espoused by ISIS.
