New Delhi: Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, will no longer enjoy no-frisking privileges at airports, Civil Aviation Ministry said today.

“Civil Aviation Ministry removes Robert Vadra's name from the no-frisking list at domestic airports,” a ministry spokesperson said.

The no-frisking privileges of Vadra, husband of Priyanka Gandhi had generated much controversy and debate.

After the announcement, the businessman expressed his joy and said, "Fantastic. I am happy with what they have done."

Two days ago, Vadra had said in a Facebook post that he wanted to be off the list of VIPs exempt from frisking at airports. The list includes his wife Priyanka Gandhi as well.

"Plans to visit every terminal in the Airports in India and add a white tape on my name from the VVIP list and my signature on top !! So look out ...." Mr Vadra wrote on his social media account.

Vadra has been targeted by the ruling BJP for his controversial land deals and that he enjoys VIP security privileges granted to his wife Priyanka Vadra, the daughter of Sonia and Rajiv Gandhi.
