New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the two are understood have discussed issues related to the state.  Patel succeeded Modi as the Chief Minister of the state.

“The Gujarat Chief Minister called on the Prime Minister today,” according to an official statement here.  Another release from Prime Minister's Office stated that Modi also met a 25-member youth delegation today from the Gujjar-Bakkarwal communities of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The delegation led by Major Ajeet Kumar Mehta, is on a tour of Delhi and Agra for ‘Sair-e-Watan', which is part of the Army's ‘Operation Sadbhavna' programme, the release said.  Interacting with the Prime Minister, the youths shared their experiences and the difficulties faced by their communities due to lack of basic infrastructure and employment opportunities, the release said.

They also told the prime minister about the difficulties being faced by them due to the absence of mobile network connectivity.

Modi shared his own experiences of ‘lok-sampark' (public contact) in the districts of Poonch and Rajouri, the release said.

He said he understood the developmental needs and aspirations of the Gujjar-Bakkarwal youth and assured them that the government would spare no effort to ensure that these were met, the release added.
