Ahmedabad: Hardik Patel, Convener of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti backtracked on his announcement of reverse Dandi march on Saturday night .
The move came after Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel agreed to meet the Patel quota leader on Monday.
"Gujarat CM has called us for a meeting, if nothing fruitful comes out then will protest again,” Hardik told reporters.
"Senior Gujarat cabinet minister Saurabh Patel has invited us for talks at 12:30 pm on Monday. He promised that if there is no solution till 7:30 in the evening, then we will take out the march on Tuesday," Patel said.
Dandi March was scheduled for Sunday morning from Dandi in Navsari to Sabarmati in Ahmedabad.
Earlier, the Gujarat government had refused to grant permission to Hardik Patel's reverse Dandi march was supposed to begin from Sunday.
It is for the second time in one week, 22 year old leader has called off a protest march.
The government had refused to grant its nod to PAAS plan to take out the reverse Dandi march last Sunday (September 6) too.
Hardik had earlier said that said this time they would go ahead with the "massive" rally at any cost, as per PTI.
"The march will begin with 78 people and later in the day around 50,000 people will join it," Hardik had said before cancelling it.
The Dandi March led by Mahatma Gandhi in 1930 was an important part of the Independence movement.
