I am not afraid of anyone: Chhota Rajan
New Delhi: Gangster Chhota Rajan, who was arrested in Indonesia on Monday, has said that he is not afraid of anyone.
Clad in orange prison uniform and handcuffs, Rajan, 55, responded to NDTV's question on underworld don Dawood Ibrahim saying: "I am not afraid of anyone."
Rajan made the comment while entering a police lock up in Bali today.
On the other hand, Bali Police Commissioner Reinhard Nainggolan said that Rajan wanted to go to Zimbabwe as he was scared to return to India because of threats from former mentor turned bitter rival. Dawood
"He asked us to release him as he wanted to go to Zimbabwe. He said that he lived in Australia and before that in Zimbabwe and wanted to go there. He was looking to escape," the police official was quoted as saying in the report.
Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje, better known as Chhota Rajan, wanted over a series of murders in India, was arrested in Indonesia on Monday after decades on the run.
Meanwhile, Indian security agencies are likely to send a team of officials in the next two days to bring back Rajan from Indonesia.
PTI reported that sources are tightlipped about the exact arrangements to bring him back because of security concerns arising out of his fierce rivalry with Dawood and his gang.
They said agencies are working on more than one plan to bring back 55-year-old Rajan, once known as Dawood's right hand man, factoring various permutations and combinations.
