New Delhi, Jun 11: A 22-year-old property dealer was killed and his friend injured when the former lost control of the scooter he was riding and fell down from a flyover in north-west Delhi this morning, police said.

The incident took place on Mukarba flyover at around 7:30 AM and the deceased has been identified as Sahil Taneja.

Taneja was on his way to Rohini from adjacent Murthal with his friends Pradeep Kumar, Sahil Saini and Aakash when the accident occurred on the Mukarba flyover.

Taneja and his friend Pradeep were on his scooter while Saini and Aakash were on a motorcycle.  They had gone to have paranthas and were returning home when the incident took place.

Taneja was allegedly riding at a very high speed. Pradeep was riding pillion.

As they ascended the Mukarba flyover, Taneja lost control of his scooter at a sharp curve and rammed it into the outer verge.

Taneja was hurled beyond the verge, around 20 feet below the flyover, on impact, police said. He died on the spot.
