Hope for progress in ties with Sri Lanka: PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hoped for progress on key bilateral initiatives with Sri Lanka and said after talks with his Sri Lankan counterpart Ranil Wickremesinghe that "projects will gather speed now".

Modi said that peace and stability in the region is "key to our success. When there is stability we prosper".

New Delhi: In yet another controversial decision by the Devendra Fadnavis government, new autorickshaw permits will only be granted to those who can speak Marathi, effective from November 1 this year.

“New autorickshaw permits from Nov 1 to be issued to only those applicants who can speak Marathi,” Maharashtra Transport Minister Diwakar Raote announced today.
