Trinamool candidate for Rajya Sabha is alleged founder member of SIMI

Kolkata: The Trainamool Congress candidate for Rajya Sabha, Ahmed Hussain (Imran), is believed to be the founder member of SIMI in West Bengal.

Imran is working as an editor of a Bengali newspaper.

Sources said, the Intelligence Bureau has shared the report mentioning Imran and his newspaper Kalam at one point acted as mouthpiece of SIMI in the state.

Controversy has erupted on his nomination. He is nominated as the fourth candidate of Trinamool Congress.

At one point of time Imran was head of Islamic Development Bank in Eastern India, then also several complaints emerged against him.
