Google doodle celebrates 25th anniversary of Berlin Wall's fall
New Delhi: Search engine Google today marked the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall with an interactive video doodle. IT shows images and video from the 1989 event.
The doodle also shows pieces of the fallen wall in various parts of the world.
The hated structure was constructed on 12 August 1961 to separate the communist-controlled East Berlin from West Berlin.
From 1961 to 1990, it had divided West Berlin from the surrounding East Germany and from East Berlin until it was opened in 1989. When it was toppled on 9 November 1989, it marked the end of 30 years of division in Germany.
