New Delhi: As Queen Elizabeth II has achieved the feat of longest reigning monarch of United Kingdom and leaving her great grandmother Queen Victoria behind. Elizabeth II who is 89 years, have reigned for 63 years and seven months.

But do you know who is the longest monarch recorded in the history?

King Sobhuza II - who had 70 wives and 210 children and had more than 1000 grandchildren,. In the course of his reign he became the ruler of the African nation.

Sobhuza reigned more than 60 years (1921-82) during which he governed after Swaziland's Independence from United Kingdom in 1968, and he was also recognized as a King of Switzerland by the British government.

When he was 4 years old his father died unexpectedly while dancing. After the death of his father he became the ruler of the African nation.

The most important thing that Sobhuza did during the colonial period was to address the problems related to the land of the people.

He also celebrated his Diamond jubilee of his rule as he has successfully strengthened the role of monarch as the decision-maker in Swaziland.

According to records available Sobhuza ruled Swaziland for a period of 82 years and 254 days which is the longest monarchical reign in the history.
