Hong Kong, Dec 16 : A 28-year-old man has turned himself in over a sex scam involving a 15-year-old girl and around 70 other women through the social networking site Facebook, The Hong Kong Standard reported.

The man, surnamed Tang, was detained overnight after he went to the Tai Po police station in the afternoon.

Tang's surrender came after police earlier in the day said they were looking for someone called "Ah Dick" who was in his 20s.

The 15-year-old girl told police "Ah Dick" had promised to pay her HK$48,000 if she had sex with him four times to change his luck.

Identified only as "Ah Sze," the teenager said the man disappeared without paying after they had sex.

She said she got to know him months ago through a person she believed was a female on Facebook.

The netizen told Ah Sze a male friend of hers needed to change his luck and was prepared to pay for sex. Ah Sze agreed and had sex with Ah Dick four times in a residential unit in Tai Po in October.

Not only did she fail to get the money, she also discovered the "female netizen" was Ah Dick.

Ah Sze, accompanied by friends, arranged to meet Ah Dick at a restaurant last Wednesday.

In the ensuing quarrel, they got hold of his cell phone in which they found more than 1,000 photos of about 70 women, mostly nude, and more than 10 sex videos he had filmed with three of them.

Ah Sze's friends rang some of the women, who admitted being taken in.

Accompanied by social workers, her parents and friends, Ah Sze reported the case on Monday.

Police have classified the case as "having sex with an underage girl."

The case sparked warnings by social workers that sex beasts are using social networking websites as hunting grounds.

Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups's Cecilia Ng Kam-kuen said sex beasts are increasingly capitalizing on social networking websites, especially Facebook.

"It is easy for sex offenders to prey on victims on Facebook as the personal information of victims is revealed after they become friends online," she said.
