Taliban suicide bomber kills senior ANP minister, 7 others in Peshawar

Peshawar, Dec 22: A Taliban suicide bomber today blew himself up killing Awami National Party's senior inister Bashir Ahmed Bilour and 7 others, and injuring 18 people. 



Bashir Ahmed Bilour, who was a  senior  minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, passed away in Peshawar's Lady Reading Hospital after doctors failed to resuscitate him.  

The attack took place when Bilour was leaving  the residence of  a local leader after a  meeting, along with his personal secretary and SHO Kabuli Police Station.  

Both the personal secretary Noor Mohammed as well as the SHO, Sattar Khan were killed on the spot while 18 others were injured.  

The suicide bomber detonated the explosives strapped to his body close to Bashir Bilour, inflicting critical wounds to his chest and stomach.  

Bilour had repeatedly termed the fight against terrorism as 'our own battle'.

Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan Ehsanullah Ehsan have claimed responsibility for the attack.
