AAP’s list of star campaigners in Punjab does not have Kumar Vishwas on it
The Aam Aadmi Party has announced its list of star campaigners for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections and party leader Kumar Vishwas is missing from it.
Vishwas, known for his oratory skills, is believed to have had a love-hate relationship with the party’s top brass. Since the party’s historic win in the Delhi elections, the poet-cum-politician has been missing in action barring a few visits to party chief Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia.
Vishwas had contested the Lok Sabha polls in 2014 against Rahul Gandhi from the Amethi constituency, but lost.
Vishwas’ exclusion from the party’s list of campaigners in Punjab has set tongues wagging, signalling a possible rift between Vishwas and the party leadership.
However, state affairs in-charge Sanjay Singh denied any such rift and said that Vishwas will be campaigning for the party in Goa.
Over 50 per cent of ministers of the Delhi government will be campaigning for the elections in Punjab including the Chief Minister himself.
Apart from Delhi chief minister and party convener Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia, Tourism minister Kapil Mishra and Health minister Satyendra Jain will also be campaigning for Punjab elections.
Party sources say that AAP will arrange over 500 Nukkad sabhas in Punjab as it shifts its focus on small gatherings to help cover the maximum area in one Assembly seat in a day.
Every star campaigner including Kejriwal will be assigned to arrange at least 4 to 5 Nukkad sabhas on daily basis.
