No place for poor in country, says Rahul Gandhi
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi today alleged that the poor are being oppressed not only in Uttar Pradesh but all across the country.
He added that there is no place for the poor and weaker sections in the country.
"Today, there is no place for the poor and weaker sections in our country. They are being oppressed not just in Uttar Pradesh, but in the entire country," he said after meeting those affected in the caste violence in Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
"The administration tried to stop me at the Uttar Pradesh border but I walked up to Shahjahanpur Chowki, Saharanpur, where I met the families of the victims," Gandhi said on his official Twitter handle.
Rahul Gandhi also met a Dalit delegation at the Yamuna bridge, on his way to Saharanpur.
On Friday, the Uttar Pradesh government had denied him permission to visit the villages where caste conflicts since May 5 have left at least two dead and over two dozen injured.
