A young Bengaluru-based entrepreneur was stunned after noticing that the Prime minister Narendra Modi,  who hardly follows 1,700 people on Twitter, would become one of his followers on the micro-blogging website.

Yes, it happened just because of one positive initiative that Akash’s family took few days ago by putting Swachh Bharat Mission (Clean India Mission) logo on his sister’s wedding card.

It all started after Akash tweeted his sister’s wedding card with a message tagging PM Modi, saying the idea was to spread the awareness about the campaign.

After his tweet, many prominent leaders of BJP lauded him and retweeted his post.

But, hold on, this was not yet over, within 48 hours of his tweet, PM Modi retweeted his post and began following Akash on Twitter.

Earlier, claiming that the Swachh Bharat Mission (Clean India Mission) has become a mass movement in India, Prime minister Narendra Modi said that over 100 districts across the country have become open defecation free (ODF).

"I am glad that the Swachh Bharat Mission is a mass movement, with over 100 districts now open defecation free," Narendra Modi said in one of his tweet.

There are three ODF states, 101 such districts and 1,67,226 such villages in the country.

A total of 34,879,320 toilets have also been built in households, as per the information shared by Modi on the mirco-blogging site.

The Swachh Bharat Mission was launched on October 2, 2014 by the Prime Minister with an aim to eradicate open defecation by 2019.

The ambitious mission is divided into two categories -- Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban).
