Rs 5 lakh reward to find ‘untraceable’ Prashant Kishor: Poster outside Congress office in UP
Prashant Kishor, the noted election strategist who was hired by Congress to help it secure a win in the assembly polls in five states, is reportedly ‘untraceable’ since the party’s crushing defeat in the UP Assembly elections.
According to a Times of India report, a Congress leader from Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district has installed a poster outside the party office in Lucknow, in which he has announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for anyone who finds him and brings him before party workers.
The poster was put by Rajesh Singh, a secretary in the UP Congress Committee, who has claimed to have installed it on behalf of “all Congress workers”. He also said that the party workers needed some answers this time.
“For the last one year, we did all the hard work.... We followed him (Kishor) without any ifs and buts... We thought it was best for the the party. But now we need answers,” Singh said.
However, Congress state president Raj Babbar has directed the party workers to immediately remove the poster, saying that “it is too early to blame anyone for the poll”.
In an attempt to combat the Bharatiya Janata Party in the UP Assembly elections, the Congress went into an alliance with the Samajwadi Party. However, the alliance could not even touch a three figure mark and managed only 52 seats, while the saffron party registered a thumping victory with a massive 312 seats.
Yogi Adityanath was announced the 21st Chief Minister of the state, with Keshav Prasad Maurya, the BJP UP chief and Dinesh Sharma as the two deputy CMs.
