UP polls: BJP president Amit Shah promises ‘anti-Romeo’ squads to protect girls from eve-teasers
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah today said that if his party forms the next government in the state, it will make sure that the girls are saved from eve-teasers.
Dubbing the eve-teasers as “Romeos”, Shah said that the BJP government will form ‘anti-Romeo’ squads in every college to check incidents of eve-teasing.
“Our girls would be safeguarded. These anti-Romeo squad would allow the girls to study without fear in college campuses,” Amit Shah said at a rally in Meerut.
Shah also lambasted the Akhilesh Yadav government over the alleged failure in maintaining law and order in Uttar Pradesh.
“ The law and order machinery is so weak that they have no fear of anyone before casting their evil eyes on our girls. But believe me, if the BJP comes to power, we will safeguard the honour and chastity of our girls,’ Amit Shah said.
