When Kejriwal told me, you may have to commit suicide, Kapil Mishra reveals in Aap Ki Adalat
Dismissed Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra, who is presently on an indefinite fast, has revealed for the first time how Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was angry at him in August 2015 when he submitted the Delhi Jal Board tanker scam probe report, and threatened to sack him.
"Within a month of becoming minister, I got the Rs 400 cr tanker scam during Sheila Dikshit's tenure probed and sent the report to Kejriwal. In August 2015, I sent the report with a covering letter saying that I knew I could lose my kursi (ministership) because of this, and the same evening, Law portfolio was taken away from me.
"I was called by Kejriwal that day. I have not shared this with anyone. I want to share it now. Kejriwal told me "what do you think, you alone can probe? We have so many ministries with us to unravel scams during Sheila Dikshit's regime. Other ministries could also have probed. What was the hurry in this?" He scolded me angrily that day."
"He told me that day, Kapil, I have so much credibility that if I sack you now, the world will say you are corrupt, even your family members will not believe you, You will have no other way out except to commit suicide. These were his words. These words weakened me like any thing."
Kapil Mishra said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Health Minister Satyender Jain will have to go to jail for committing irregularities.
Replying to questions from Rajat Sharma in India TV show "Aap Ki Adalat", to be telecast tonight, Mishra was asked whether it was true that after his dismissal, he had told Deputy CM Manish Sisodia that he would send Kejriwal to jail, if he was sacked. Mishra replied: "I didn't say that exactly, but this will surely happen."
On senior AAP leaders' remarks that they lost their trust in humanity after what Mishra did, the suspended AAP leader said: "Well, they should not lose their trust in humanity. Heaven and hell are there on this Earth, and they will have to face the music."
"Today Income Tax department, CBI, Enforcement Directorate are all probing irregularities committed by Satyender Jain, there is the PWD scam, the land deal involving Kejriwal's brother-in-law. All of us blindly believed Kejriwal would not spare if he found any of his associates corrupt.
" Today I am alone in my satyagraha, but the day Satyender Jain will go to jail, I will go to the homes of all these leaders, and tell them, now that the truth is out, come with me. Till then, it is 'ekla chalo re' for me."
Mishra threw a challenge to the AAP leadership to bring all files in the open and prove that his charges were wrong.
"When I was suspended from the party, I said, this is not your party alone, this is my party. If there are charges of corruption against me, then throw me out.
"I have given them a challenge. Make public all the tenders and orders issued by Delhi chief minister and all other ministers at the Ramlila Maidan, bring in the experts, and let them check the files, and then dismiss those ministers who are found corrupt. "
Kapil Mishra said, he had details of "shell companies, use of black money and concealing of transactions from Income Tax and Election Commission", and he would make them public soon. "Then I will ask these leaders whether they have any moral power left to continue in power."
Denying charges that he was acting as a "BJP agent", Kapil Mishra however admitted that his mother Annapurna Mishra had been a BJP worker and councillor for last 25 years and it was Kejriwal who had sought her mother's consent before making him a minister. "I was in AAP, I am in AAP and I shall continue to be in AAP, but I will try my best to throw out the four or five corrupt leaders from the party."
"Kejriwal in his book on Swarajya had praised my mother for her role in organizing mohalla sabha" He had openly said this in party meetings. But now, in order to prove that I am a BJP agent, they are circulating my pictures with Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari that were taken a year ago, one at an Iftaar party organized by Delhi Police, and another at an event, where other AAP leaders were also present."
The former Delhi minister quoted Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi, who recently resigned from the party in Punjab, to allege that several AAP leaders "exploited women during the Punjab elections". "This is a criminal silence on part of AAP leadership. Kejriwal is silent on my charges for the last 15 days, and it seems he will leave Dr Manmohan Singh behind."
Asked why he was silent when, according to him, he saw Satyender Jain giving Rs 2 crore cash to Kejriwal, Kapil Mishra replied: "I was not silent. I asked Kejriwal, from where the money had come. I request him to call a meeting of all MLAs and explain the source of the money. He called a meeting of MLAs, but did not mention this incident, and in the evening it was announced that I was sacked.
"It is of course right to ask why I did not act, call in the police and get the person arrested. I was then just stunned to react. Those moments were almost like a trauma for me. It was like as if I was in a state of vacuum. But my conscience was there. I wrote a letter to Anti-Corruption Bureau the next morning at 9.30 am. Kejriwal then called members of his Political Affairs Committee and told them about this. Some of those members later told me, I was removed because I had written the letter to ACB."
Asked why he did not speak up when ex-minister Jitendra Tomar was caught with a fake degree and another ex-minister Sandeep Kumar was found sexually exploiting women, Kapil Mishra replied: "I sometimes feel, I was mistakenly made a minister. They will repent this mistake for the rest of their lives."
Kapil Mishra in Rajat Sharma's show Aap Ki Adalat will be telecast tonight at 10 pm on India TV. The repeat telecast will take place tomorrow, Sunday May 14 at 10 am and 10 pm.
