New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party Sunday held a rally in the National capital in support of their demand of dissolution of the Legislative Assembly and hold fresh elections. Hundreds of people assembled at Jantar Mantar to show their support for Arvind Kejriwal's AAP.

The main focus of the rally was on "Why is the BJP running away from Delhi assembly elections? Why are the people of Delhi being denied the right to elect a government of their choice?" said a party spokesperson.

"We are gathered here to demand re-election in Delhi. The BJP and the Congress are running away from the election," AAP leader Manish Sisodia said at the Jantar Mantar in the heart of the city.

While addressing thousands of people, Sosodia said both the parties are scared of losing the Delhi assembly elections.

Sisodia said we will continue to come here till the demands are met.

The Delhi assembly is in abeyance ever since the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal in February this year.

Kejriwal, who is also party's National Convener, addressed the rally at the Jantar Mantar along with several other senior party leaders.

All party MLAs, office-bearers were also present for the rally which commenced at 3 PM at Jantar Mantar.

More importantly, the rally also showed of strength and boosted the morale of its cadre after its mauling in the Lok Sabha election where the party drew a blank in the national capital.

This was the second rally by Kejriwal in less than a week

On Thursday, the AAP chief addressed a rally of auto drivers, who played a key role in party's campaigning during the 2013 assembly election.
