Kicking off the exercise to choose a new Chief Minister for Jharkhand, BJP's central leaders on Tuesday in Ranchi met party MLAs and MPs in the state here and discussed with them the political situation.
"Our senior leaders Rajnath Singhji and Ananth Kumarji have met MLAs and spoke to them individually. Now, they will place a report before the rest of the central leadership," BJP Vice President Karuna Shukla told newsmen here.
Rajnath Singh and Ananth Kumar met the MLAs and MPs individually at a closed-door meeting at the party headquarters here.
BJP general secretary Arjun Munda and Deputy Chief Minister Raghuvar Das, who are contenders for the top job, were also seated with the central observers.
Asked to comment on JMM legislature party leader Hemant Soren's demand of sharing of power between the allies on 50:50 basis, she said "there is no confusion. The JMM/Ajsu met our central leadership in Delhi."
"Just wait for a day or two before eveything settles down...now also BJP is in government which has started doing good work in the short four months period," she said when asked whether the discussion centred around only on selection of chief ministerial candidate or over JMM's latest demand for sharing power on rotation.
