Bangalore, Oct 11: BJP would wage a legal battle and resort to street agitation against Governor H R Bhardwaj's recommendation for imposition of President's Rule in the state, a senior leader said today.

"We will go in for legal fight, (and launch) street agitation", former state unit president of the party and Lok Sabha member D V Sadananda Gowda said.

He said the matter would be taken up with President Pratibha Patil by the ruling party MLAs, while Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Home Minister P Chidambaram would also be approached.

Meanwhile, JD(S) welcomed the governor's recommendation and said the union government should take a decision on it at the earliest. "The corrupt Yeddyurappa government should be dismissed immediately," senior JD-S leader Danish Ali said in Delhi. PTI
