End Infighting Or Face Action: Mulayam To Party Leaders

Lucknow, Dec 4: Taking note of infighting among party leaders, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav today warned them to end groupism or else face disciplinary action.

"Recent reports (by party observers) show groupism in the party. If this is not put to an end, I will be forced to take stern action including expulsion from the party," he told a meeting of party office-bearers and leaders here.

According to the reports, grassroot workers were still working with dedication and there was no problem with them, the SP supremo said.

The problem lay with the party leaders, he said adding if they did not behave, stern action would be taken against them.

"Take a resolve to end groupism. Don't force me to take any bitter action," Yadav told party leaders.

"At a time when we are eyeing a spot in Delhi, people in the party are fighting with each other," he said.

On 2012 UP assembly election, Yadav said the state would witness a direct fight between his party and the ruling BSP which, he alleged, was most corrupt.

"Even BSP Chief Minister has admitted her party is in straight contest with the SP in UP," he said.

He asked party workers and leaders to remain alert as BSP head Mayawati might go in for early election.

Earlier, general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav said there was infighting in almost every district.

"In every district, party people are either directly or indirectly opposing SP candidates for Panchayat chairmen polls. PTI
